It's late on Saturday night.  My heart has been heavy in prayer.  I have been designing websites lately to supplement my income so that I can continue sharing the Gospel.  After much prayer, meditation and reflection, my wife and I know that I would never be completely happy unless I'm on the streets sharing the Gospel full-time.  The streets are much more than simply a call - it's a burden.  In theological circles these two are often left separated.  While I do believe they are separate, I also believe they are one and the same; the call and the burden work hand in hand.  The Church has a corporate calling and every Christian has an individual calling, or vocation; and, our burden directs and refines our Lord's specific call on our lives. So, after this time of prayer, we've decided that I'm leaving the website world in order to strictly engage in evangelism once again.  In order to do this, I have begun to increase my support raising efforts.  A few people, with all best intentions, still ask questions such as, "Why don't you get a job and share the Gospel in your free time?" This blog entry is my feeble attempt to bring the answer to light. More...

This past weekend, my family and I drove up to Atlanta.  While we were getting gas, I began talking to the attendant, Dubon.  I asked him if he could give me directions.  He asked, "To where?"  I answered, "Heaven."  "What?" he chuckled.  I continued, "Well, you give directions to everywhere else, can you give me directions to Heaven?"  He responded, "Yeah, you just kind of caught me off guard.  You have to believe in Jesus Christ and repent."  I said, "Yep.  Now have you done that?"  He said, "Yes. I go to church up the road from here."  Then I said, "That's awesome. Now, are you living the life Christ has called you to live?" He answered, "Like I said, I do go to church."  Don't get me wrong, I'm glad you are going to church, but its more than just attending church.  Jesus Christ has called us to be his disciple.  You've heard that word in church haven't you?"  Dubon repsonded, "Yeah."  I continued, "Well, the word disciple means 'learner,' or 'someone who takes what they learn and put it in to practice. Are you practicing what you learn at church?  You see its like working here at the gas station and then taking your paycheck, ripping it up and throwing it away.  You wouldn't do that would you?  Going to church, but not putting into practice what you learn, is like work here, but throwing away your paycheck.  Its almost like wasting your time and the time you spend at church is, therefore, not worth much."  Dubon replied, "You know, I've never really thought about it that way.  That actually makes a lot sense." We parted and Dubon thanked me for taking the time to talk to him.

Okay so I had to get my tires changed - one of those dreaded necessities of owning a car. While I was waiting I started talking to an old man who, too, was waiting. More...

Last Thursday, while I was lifting, there were a few guys off to the side joking around and talking about girls and relationships.  One of the guys eventually said something along the lines of, "You know, most girls just date you, take your money and leave. Girls say they want the nice, sweet guy, but that's not true." The other guys agreed. More...

A few mornings ago, after my run, I had an opportunity to talk to the Deerfield Beach Parks and Recreation Maintenance Crew.  The crew was standing around while waiting to be deployed to their day's assignments. I was able to talk to two groups of workers. More...
