A few days ago, I went walking on the sidewalk of Deerfield Beach. The Spirit within me was drawn to a man sitting by himself on the grassy hedge.  I walked over and sat down right next to him.  His name was Albert.  I asked him if he would mind me asking him a personal question.  He said that he didn't mind. I asked Albert if he was to die tonight, where he thought he would spend eternity.  He just laughed and said, "I don't know; you tell me."  I then asked him, "Well, what do you think it takes to get to heaven?"  He, "Man, you tell me. What does it take to get to heaven?"  He continued, "I come out here all the time to sit - just sit - and think about my life.  You know, it's no accident that you picked me out of everyone on this beach to come talk to. And here you come asking me these same questions that I've been asking myself." More...

A few nights ago, I was walking back from the gym and met this very nice couple sitting at the bus stop. Their names were Michael and Rebekah.  They just moved approx. 2 months ago from Louisville, KY in order for them to be closer to Rebekah's children who live in Delray Beach. I asked them if I may ask them a personal question while they waited for the bus.  They said, "Sure."  I ask, "In your personal opinions, what you ya'll think it takes to get to heaven."  They both replied, "To ask Jesus Christ into your heart to forgive you of your sins."  To which I congratulated them for having the right answer and then asked, "Now, can you say that you are truly living the lifestyle that Jesus Christ has called you to live?"  They both answered, "Well, honestly, we weren't up until a few months ago, but we definately are now." I said, "Good; I'm glad to hear it."  Then I asked, "Have ya'll found a church down here yet?" They said, "No, we haven't.  Where do you go?"  I gave them directions to my church.  Michael and Rebekah said that they wouldn't be in town this weekend, but that they would be there next weekend.  I'll keep ya'll posted.

I just wanted to give everyone a heads up about another benefit in blogging.  As you visit my website, you will see a box located below each article.  One of the headings inside the box is labeled "Tags."  Occasionally, I will write a few tags in this field.  Tags are specifically for search engines.

For example... I just posted an article about Kyle who is struggling with drug addiction.  In the "tags" field, I added keyphrases such as "twelve step process," "overcoming drugs," etc. Therefore, when someone goes, let's say to Google, and searches for "twelve step process," hopefully my site will be one of the sites returned.

I chose the domain name "starveme.com" because you'd be surprised how many people search for terms like, "starve me," "how to starve yourself," etc.  I get visitors all the time searching for these key phrases.  My prayer is that I can not only offer encouragement to ya'll, but also encouragement (and salvation) to others through my website.  I receive e-mails all the time from people who have read my "salvation" page and have been encouraged. I just received one last week.

By the way, if you go to Google and search for "starve me"  I'm the first page that comes up.  Praise God!

I saw a younger guy riding his skateboard.  Just as he was about to pass me, I asked him if he would mind me asking him a question.  He said, "Sure."  So I asked him if he knew what it takes to get to Heaven.  He bashfully smiled as he replied, "I guess quit doing drugs."  He stated that he was still a little confused and asked me to clarify.  I refrased the question by asking him if he died today, where would he go.  He replied that he grew up going to a Catholic school but was unsure about eternity. I was speaking to a gentleman tonight and his 7 or 8-year-old son.  (By the way, the son just accepted Christ this past week! Praise God!) The gentleman was sharing with me how he was currently struggling to have faith in God.  The gentleman told me that he believed in God, but just didn't trust him right now. Apparently, the man and his wife recently separated and he lost his son in a custody battle earlier this month.  The gentleman was restricted to seeing his son twice a week - one afternoon and one full day.

As we continued to talk the gentleman became a little frustrated and shared with me how so many people tell him different things.  Some people tell him that he has free will. Others tell him that God already knows what he is going to do.  Yet, a third group tell him that God has ordained everything in his life. He asked me what he was supposed to do and to believe.  I asked him, "Would you like for me to explain it all and bring them all together in order for you to better understand?"  He replied, "Yes, please do.  Here, lets sit down so that we can talk." And I began to explain... More...
